Welcome to the Austin chapter of Beer and Blog! I just got the site up and am excited to get this group up and running. I am still figuring out where to have our meetings as well as what night and time. If you think you might be interested in attending our meetups, please leave a comment below and let me know what night you would prefer.
I am also on the lookout for a good bar that has free wifi. At first thought, I am thinking about using Doc’s on Congress since it’s the only one I could think of off the top of my head. However, please leave any recommendations below as I would love to hear some more options.
What Is Beer and Blog?
If you are unfamiliar with Beer and Blog, it’s a weekly meetup where bloggers help one another over beers. We will meet up and share our blogs with one another, give each other tips and advice, and overall just meet people from here in Austin that share the same interests. It doesn’t matter if you use WordPress, blogger, Drupal, or some other platform. People of all ages (over 21 of course for beer), skill sets, and experience are welcome.
Stay Informed
I’ve already got a Twitter account and Facebook group created to help everyone stay up to date with our events. Feel free to follow the group on Twitter @BeerNBlogAustin or join the Beer and Blog Austin Facebook Group.
Besides sending out updates via Facebook and Twitter, I will also post them here on the blog so everyone can see them. I am hoping to have the first meetup next week if possible. So stay tuned for more updates over the next few days.
Look forward to meeting some fellow bloggers in the Austin area,
Your host, Justin

I can’t wait! Saturdays would be cool. May I suggest Flying Saucer or the new Gingerman. I podcast but have been slacking lately, so this will give me the opportunity to have an actual deadline again and to produce some new content. If you check out my site you’ll see text posts and if you scroll back a few pages you’ll find my podcasts. I did comsolidate everything all into one blog a while back. Keep us informed!
Hey there Justin,
Opal Divine’s is a great meetup place – north, downtown, or south. Good wi-fi in all three places and lots of room. We’re connected with them and can help. Let us know.

First off, awesome websites! It makes me happy when I see people following their dreams
Thanks a lot for the recommendation. Perhaps Opal’s would be the best place to have it. Do you happen to know of any nights that would work better there than others?
I’m still trying to figure out the best day to have the meetups. Ryan suggested Saturday so far so I’d like to see what others have to say.
Hope to see you at our first event in the near future!
Clementine’s – Manor.
Hey this sounds like a fun idea. I am a relatively new blogger and would love some tips on using WordPress etc. For my two cents, I like Crown & Anchor, Hole In The Wall, Dog & Duck, I saw Clementine already suggested but I’ll throw that one in there again, also Spider House… What about Saturday or Sunday afternoons? Sundays are usually my quietest days when I’m not playing bike polo, but Saturday in the day time is the second quietest time. I look forward to getting this set up! Thanks for starting this motion.
@John
Thanks for stopping by. It seems everyone is preferring the weekend so I think I might give that a shot. Do you guys prefer early in the day (Like 1 PM) or later in the day (5 or 6 PM)? I think Sunday would be a good day since people will most likely have less going on than Saturday afternoon.
i recommend clementine too!
